Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Shanghai

    Shanghai Arrival

    Begin your journey by embarking on your international flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival at Shanghai Pudong International Airport you will be met by your tour manager and be transferred to your hotel. Take some time to relax and prepare for your full day tour tomorrow.
  • Day 2 - Shanghai

    Shanghai City Description

    Shanghai is the largest metropolis in China and a global financial hub. The city is a popular destination as it offers a unique experience in a city where western customs and Chinese traditions entwine.

    The Bund, Shanghai Museum, Nanjing Road

    The Bund, Shanghai Museum, Nanjing Road: Today you will enjoy a Shanghai city tour, winding through the largest commercial and financial centres, visiting the Nanjing walking district and discovering the history and culture of Shanghai at the Shanghai Museum. You will then continue to the Bund by the Huangpu River, and witness the old meeting the modern side of the city. Enjoy an optional evening on the Huangpu River Cruise, allowing you to take in the famous sites of Shanghai including; the People’s Hero Monument, the Bund, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the dramatic skyline of the Pu Dong business district, the bustling International Passenger Station of Shanghai Harbour, the docks and the Wu Song ancient gun fort relics.
  • Day 3 - Hangzhou

    Shanghai departure

    Today you will be transferred from Shanghai to Hangzhou. 

    Hangzhou City Description

    The city of Hangzhou is renowned for its beauty and abundance of cultural heritage. It is also the political, economic and cultural centre of the Zheijang Province and one of the most popular tourist destinations in China.

    West Lake Area

    You will take a tour of the West Lake area in Hangzhou, comprising of the West Lake and the surrounding hills, which have inspired famous poets, scholars and artists since the 9thCentury. It is considered one of the most beautiful landscapes in China, and is home to numerous temples, pagodas, pavilions, gardens, causeways and artificial islands.

    Impressions of West Lake Show

    Impressions of West Lake is an evening spectacle of music, light and dance, performed entirely on the beautiful West Lake in Hangzhou City. The surrounding mountains act as a stunning natural backdrop to this magical performance. The show tells the 1,000 year history and legends of the mesmerising West Lake District.
  • Day 4 - Suzhou

    Tea Village

    Today you will enjoy a visit to a tea plantation, where you will learn about tea picking and processing. Tea Village is part of the West Lake scenic area and has a history of over 600 years. It is situated in a beautiful rustic setting, nestled amongst lush green hills.

    Suzhou City Description

    The ancient city of Suzhou dates back to 514BC and over the course of its 2,500 year history a great number of relics and sites of historical signficance have been founded here. It is also often referred to as the 'Venice of the East' due to its many beautiful waterways.

    Grand Canal

    Take a boat trip along the longest canal in the world - you will have the options to take an optional boat trip along longest canal in the world - Suzhou's Grand Canal.   • Day 5 - Beijing

    Master of the Nets Garden

    The Master of the Nets Garden is one of the finest in China, and is one of the gardens for which Suzhou is renowned. On our optional tour you will expore the garden and admire the effortless cohesion of art, nature and architecture that has attracted thousands of visitors since 1140CE.

    Silk Factory

    Explore the most famous silk factory in China to understand the manufacturing processes of silk and its rich history in China.

    Suzhou Departure

    Later you will board a bullet train to Beijing. Upon arrival you will be met by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel. The remaining time of the day is free for your individual activities.
  • Day 6 - Beijing

    Tiananmen Square

    Explore the incredible Tiananmen Square, one of the largest and grandest public plazas in the world.

    Beijing Forbidden City 故宫

    Enter the imposing walls of the Forbidden City, once the exclusive domain of the Ming Dynasty, for an extensive tour through this vast complex.

    Silk Factory outlet

    Afterwards, visit the Silk Factory Outlet to learn about silk, the very trade item which started the famous Silk Road, and its delicate manufacturing process.
  • Day 7 - Beijing

    The Great Wall of China

    Travel into the rugged mountain landscapes north of the city to the magnificent Great Wall of China. Once on top of this ancient defensive structure, you’ll find views that are magnificent and the experience is truly unforgettable.

    Jade Factory

    Learn about Jade, China’s most precious and celebrated stone, and its manufacturing process at the largest Jade factory in Beijing.

    Olympic Games Sites

    Your next stop will be to the 2008 Olympic Games Sites including the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube.

    Oriental Foot Massage

    Later, you will enjoy a traditional oriental foot massage.
  • Day 8 - Beijing

    The Temple of Heaven

    The Temple of Heaven is a sprawling complex of religious buildings located in the south-eastern section of central Beijing. The site was constructed by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties who would host annual ceremonies of prayer for good harvest here.

    Chinese Tea Ceremony

    Experience a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony while sampling China’s locally-favoured brews at a Tea House.
  • Day 9 - Beijing

    Beijing Leisure Day with Optional Tours

    Today you may enjoy a day of leisure or you may choose to join one of our optional excursions with our experienced tour guide.

    Beijing Zoo

    Admire China’s national treasures – the giant pandas – at the famous Beijing Zoo.

    Lama Temple Excursion

    You may choose to visit the Lama Temple which is the largest and best-preserved lamasery in Beijing. It was built in 1694 and was originally the home of Qing Emperor Yongzheng before he became emperor. 

    Capital Museum Excursion

    you can visit the Capital Museum which houses a large collection of ancient porcelain, bronze, calligraphy, painting, jade, sculpture, and Buddhist statues from imperial China as well as other Asian cultures.
  • Day 10 - Beijing

    Beijing Departure

    Today you will be transferred to Beijing Capital International Airport for your scheduled flight home.
